Exploring AI’s Impact on Creatives
(Communication Studies Capstone Project)

Exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on the creative industry has shown me how vital communication is in shaping public understanding and sparking thoughtful conversations around new technologies. AI is quickly reshaping creative fields — offering new tools for innovation, but also raising real concerns about authenticity, ethics, and job security. By researching both the benefits and the challenges, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to use clear, well-informed communication to help people navigate these complex changes. Whether it’s through sharing balanced insights in class discussions, social media posts, or professional settings, communication plays a central role in how AI’s future is shaped, both locally and globally.

The rise of AI in creative work is more than just a technological shift — it’s a conversation about human dignity, ownership of ideas, and the future of artistic expression. When people understand both the potential and the risks of AI, they are better equipped to advocate for ethical practices, fair compensation, and creative freedom. Communicating these ideas helps empower artists and freelancers to protect their work, ask important questions, and shape policy that ensures technology serves the community rather than replaces it.

This process has helped me realize how communication can truly influence public discourse by encouraging critical thinking, raising awareness, and creating space for meaningful dialogue. Whether addressing AI’s role in the creative world or any other social challenge, communication gives us the power to not only inform but to shift perspectives and inspire collective action. By using research-backed communication strategies, I feel more prepared to contribute to discussions that matter — both in professional environments and public platforms.
